Learning Objectives
- Acknowledge the challenges that dental schools in the US face in regards to competency assessment at the undergraduate level.
- Describe the different ways competency is currently measured in different dental schools in the US.

Educational Affairs Committee
The AAE would like to thank the members of the Educational Affairs Committee for their time and effort in preparing this event. The 2020-2021 EAC convened in February 2021, to develop the original in-person program, keeping in mind areas of particular interest to program directors. With travel restrictions of the continued pandemic, the 2021-2022 EAC worked diligently to revise and adapt the program for a shortened virtual program. Without their efforts, we would not have the high-quality program we are offering for the 2021 workshop.
