Access to Care Opportunities Abound During Save Your Tooth Month
Endodontists from RCT Endodontics provided free root canal treatments to patients in need to celebrate Save-Your-Tooth Month on May 4. More than $62,000 in services were provided at its Silver Spring, Md., location!
“We have the most honorable team, over 75 percent of our employees are volunteering their time and services on a Saturday,” said the practice’s founder Dr. Ronald Taylor in a release. “The best part is that they do it with joy! We have created a culture of giving back and serving others with genuine care. This is our second year giving back and we plan on growing our efforts every year moving forward.”

Last Saturday, Exclusively Endodontics held its own Save a Smile Day at its Cherry Hill, N.J., office.
Four doctors and four assistants were on hand providing care. Cherry Hill is a township in Camden County. An edge city of Philadelphia, it is situated on the Delaware Valley coastal plain, approximately 8 miles southeast of Center City, Philadelphia.
Philadelphia’s Wissahickon Valley Park was the runner-up winner in the AAE’s Worth Saving Landmarks Contest, which spotlighted four natural locations from across the country and asked people to vote on which landmark they felt was the most worth saving. As the dental specialists who save one’s natural teeth, endodontists understand that even though we live in a disposable, replacement-oriented world, natural landmarks are truly worth saving, preserving and revering just like your natural teeth.
Providing root canal treatments to those in the Philadelphia area who are in need was the perfect way to celebrate the runner-up honor that Wissahickon Valley Park received – as well as celebrate Save Your Tooth Month!
One gracious provider of free care made the TV news: Tallahassee, Fla., AAE member Dr. Briano Allen was recently featured on his local ABC News affiliate for providing free root canals to patients from a local homeless shelter. Check out the segment here.
We’re grateful for members like these who give back to the community and create access to care.
