AAE Brings Representation to the ADA Forsyth Dentech Conference
AAE staff represented the association at the ADA Forsyth Dentech Conference on October 24-25, 2024, one of the premier conferences focused on advancements in oral health technology. The ADA Forsyth Institute is one of the leading NIH research-funded organizations dedicated to advancing oral health research. Last October, the ADA announced integrating with the Forsyth Institute to increase dental research, innovation, and partnership opportunities to advance the profession.
The two-day agenda emphasized the updated vision and initiatives of the new Institute, now bolstered by the combined resources of the ADA and former Forsyth Institute leaders. Attendees heard from thought leaders from public health agencies, the ADA, Forsyth, and other critical dental stakeholders who discussed barriers to oral healthcare access in the U.S. and the vital need to strengthen connections between oral and overall health for improved patient outcomes. The conference also marked the first official event attended by newly appointed ADA President Brett Kessler, DDS, who shared his three presidential priorities: clinical wellness, diversity and inclusion, and the connection between oral and systemic health.
Throughout the conference, participants had the opportunity to listen to poster sessions and technology presentations from twelve companies specializing in dental devices, biologics, and pharmaceuticals, all competing for the prestigious Dentech prize funding. This prize, a symbol of excellence and innovation in the field, was awarded to SprintRay, a 3D printing company for dentistry, and Get Grin, a digital platform for orthodontic solutions, underscoring the significance of their contributions to dental innovation.
