2024 Interim Board Meeting Recap

With a commitment to advancing endodontics and supporting its members, the AAE Board of Directors took strategic action at their Interim Meeting on October 18-19, held in conjunction with the ADA’s 2024 SmileCon in New Orleans.

The Board dedicated time at its meeting to reviewing progress towards its four strategic goals, focused on public awareness, support of members, development of knowledge, and advocacy for the specialty. Progress was evident across each of the AAE’s four strategic goals. Affirming that the strategic plan is on track, the Board committed to maintaining the current course of these initiatives to sustain progress.

The results of the June 30, 2024 audit were reviewed by the Board. Following a comprehensive review, the AAE’s independent auditor reported a clean audit with no deficiencies, underscoring the organization’s commitment to financial responsibility and transparency in compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles.

SmileCon served as the ideal backdrop for AAE’s networking reception, attracting leaders from the ADA, dental specialties, state delegations, and industry for a memorable evening of professional connection and camaraderie.

The AAE maximized its time in New Orleans to bolster advocacy on critical issues for endodontists and patients. The Board hosted a luncheon meeting for AAE members who serve as Delegates and Alternates within the ADA House of Delegates, led by Dr. Najia Usman, a dedicated advocate for the specialty. Dr. Usman guided the AAE’s effort to review resolutions, with a sharp focus on matters impacting AAE members, providing vital insights to the Board on ADA initiatives. The luncheon sparked discussion among delegates on issues central to endodontics. Additionally, AAE provided testimony on key issues at Reference Committee Hearings, as well as during the ADA’s town hall on Strategic Forecasting.
